ARLENE AMALER-RAVIV ON SHOW AT WORLDART

Worldart is pleased to announce that it will be showing artworks by acclaimed artist Arlene Amaler-Raviv for the duration of February.

Despite the fact that Amaler-Raviv’s work is inspired by an environment that reflects a world filled with contradictions, she never falls into the trap of producing work that is sombre and dark. Her work and style is simply not that obvious. What stands out in her work can best be summed up in one word and that word is elegance. Her subject matter, which usually evolves around people and objects in an urban environment, always reflects a sense of purpose and dignity. They live, and more importantly, they communicate. Her subject matter tells stories most of us recognise, but doing so without without a sense of pity. What one experience is dignity, strength, respect and ultimately inspiration. This is the real story about what life in South Africa and beyond is about.

One of the works currently on show at the Worldart gallery is a piece from her Home-series titled Salt River. This 2m X1m work was painted on aliminium with oil and enamel on aliminium and can be seen with the artist above.
