On Saturday 23 August Teamuncool will launch their latest art event, titled: 5 4 3 2 1 !, at the Worldart Gallery in Johannesburg

Teamuncool is a creative collective that consists of M18J92T (Murray Turpin).  Chris Saunders, Kidu (Nicholas Nesbitt), Joh Del (Johan De Lange) and Chinxxx (Hayley Junkin). Each member represents a different form of creativity. Mediums explored include photography, drawing, installation, animation, design and sound.Working against what is considered to be cool, Teamuncool is a creative collective that explores this notion through various multimedia. Their artworks are expressions of their own expectations and ideals of what might be cool and question whether this notion even exists. Another important aspect of their work is their questioning of the conditions set out and pursued in the commercial world. “Individual creativity and its cultural relevance is important to us and that is why we question the messages generally sent out by the mass media. Our response is an act of liberation, a demonstration of artists creating outside the limitations and constraints of the corporate world.”The launch exhibition of Teamuncool will consist of works by each member of the team and new sound material and visuals by MTKIDU (www.myspace.com/mtkidu).
