QUEER2.18 CALENDAR EXHIBITION

An exhibition of portraits at WORLDART (54 Church Street, Cape Town) from 2-13 December 2017

On 2 December TRYBE COLLECTIVE will launch their much-anticipated QUEER2.18 Calendar at the WORLDART gallery in Cape Town. This night also sees the simultaneous launch of their website and mobile app.

The launch will feature 13 portraits of queer creatives as well as performances by featured calendar artists including Marion Versatile (DJ), Tracey Rose and Bakae Moon Maesela (singer and performer) and Lwazi Mzimase (experimental artist).

QUEER2.18 Calendar is a documentation and celebration of the queer creative world, showcasing its diversity, resilience and vibrancy. It’s about showcasing its activism and integration in a world of exclusion and segregation. Most importantly, it’s about showcasing the power and beauty of the queer creative world.

The QUEER2.18 Calendar will feature queer artists, who participated in a photo-shoot which took place at ERF81 Farm in Tamboerskloof, with Kenyan photographer and cinematographer Josemarie Nyagah.

The launch event takes place on Saturday 2 December from 6-9pm and the exhibition will run until Monday 11 December 2017.
