This week sees the opening of the third annual Cape Town Art Fair (CTAF) taking place at the V&A Waterfront from 26 February to 1 March. It is a busy weekend in Cape Town with THAT Art Fair, Design Indaba and the Guild Design Fair all happening simultaneously.

THE THINGS WE DO

2015 was a busy year for Worldart. We did a solo exhibition with Kilmany-Jo Liversage at the Hay Hill Gallery in London, a group exhibition about urban contemporary art curated by University of Cape Town lecturer Andrew Lamprecht, three art fairs (Cape Town Art Fair, Joburg Art Fair in Johannesburg and the Moniker Art Fair in London) and nine solo exhibitions at our gallery in Cape Town. The list of artists involved includes Kilmany-Jo Liversage, Khaya Witbooi, Lady Skollie, Gavin Rain, Dion Cupido, Marlise Keith and Claude Chandler.

NEW EXHIBITION BY MARLISE KEITH: DIFFICULT THINGS

A solo exhibition by Marlise Keith opens on Thursday 5 October at the Worldart gallery on Church Street. The exhibition, titled Difficult things, consists of artworks in which she used sketching and sowing to create images and sculptures that explore a world where she pursued “difficult things”.

CARNIVAL OF MEMORIES

Artist Dion Cupido’s fascination with memory, in particular its retrieval and the question of its accuracy, has always been an important subject in his paintings.
